Viva Florentina

The first weekend of the program, Florence had its final home game of the season.  Soccer is huge over here; it's like football in the states.  I do not remember who they were playing but I know that Florence needed to win the game in order to stay in the top bracket.  We sat in the "Fiesole" section, or the rowdy section.  We arrived right as the game began so we sat more on the outskirts of the section but it was so fun.  The people sang all these songs, chanted, waved flags, and threw purple dust into the air.

Unfortunately, the skies opened up right when the first half ended so we only saw half the game but we did see the one and only goal!  I am so glad I was able to experience a game since I didn't the last time I was here. Viva Florentina!
